Sokolov

Was born in 1947 in Moscow.

In 1967 he ended courses of animators of a film studio

«Soyuzmultfilm».

In 1972 – study in All Union State University of

Cinematography (VGIC, workshop of prof. Ivan Ivanov-

Vano).

He protected an honors degree.

From 1973 he worked at a film studio «Soyuzmultfilm»

as the art director.

From 1990 to 1994 together with the British cinematographers

he worked over movies according to plays

W. Shakespeare. The international awards, among which

«EMMI» of the American Academy of television.

From 1994 to 1999 – collaboration with the British

cinematographers over the feature animation film «Miracle

man» («Jesus History»), devoted to the 2000 anniversary

of the Christianity, also noted by the international prizes.

Coauthor of the scenario and «Gofmaniada’s» director

(«Soyuzmultfilm»).

Teaches in the VGIС since 1984.

Head of a workshop of artists animated movies, since 1995

the head workshop of directors of animation and computer

schedules.

Honored worker of arts of the Russian Federation.

Head of the department of animation and computer graphics

from the date of its basis in 1995. Professor.

Member of Academy of cinema arts of «Nick».
